London, UK – 8 March, 2024 – On International Women’s Day, the London School of Emerging Technology (LSET) proudly reaffirms its commitment to encourage women to break barriers in the tech industry. Recognising the multifaceted challenges women face in the tech world, LSET underscores the pivotal role that educational institutions can play in fostering inclusivity, providing support, and empowering female students to overcome barriers.

Addressing the issue of existing career gaps with relation to women, which also affects men and society in general, Mr Mayur Ramgir, Director of LSET, said, “The career gaps experienced by working women in several industries necessitates concerted efforts at the educational level. Our institution is dedicated to shaping the tech industry’s future by creating an inclusive environment that supports and empowers future generations of women.”

Mr Ramgir elaborated on LSET’s efforts to further women’s education. “We have the Single Mother or Widow Scholarship, a pioneering concept that aims to provide easier access to higher education for single mothers and widows, enabling them to pursue tech-related courses. It is our testament to our dedication to breaking barriers.”

Moreover, LSET ensures that female students have equal opportunities by facilitating paid internships with their male counterparts. This initiative seeks to close the practical experience gap, enabling women to flourish in technology.

According to Mr Ramgir, female students at LSET are also encouraged to participate in workshops, practical training courses, seminars, and various educational exercises. These activities provide women a powerful platform to voice their opinions and leave an indelible mark in the tech world.

Moreover, the LSET Startup Incubator, a comprehensive program designed to empower tech startup ideas, will extend its support to women-run tech startups, providing business mentoring, technical expertise, and financial investments for their ultimate growth and success in future.

In its efforts to support women’s education further, LSET also allows its female students to take a rerun of courses at no extra cost if they cannot understand the contents of a particular course.
