World-reknowned Hot Rod Designer & “Overhaulin’” Tv Star Chip Foose To Appear For Charity Giveaway At South Oc Cars And Coffee Saturday, April 17, 2021

Foose will be appearing on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the world’s largest weekly car show, South OC Cars and Coffee, meeting fellow auto enthusiasts, signing autographs, and donating nearly $500,000 in free pain relief cream from RubItOn™ to help launch his new charity, Amy’s Depot. Amy’s Depot was founded to start the cure and stop the pain, to raise funds and awareness for Progeria, or “Aging Disease,” the rare, painfully debilitating, terminal childhood disease that took the life of Foose’s youngest sister, Amy, and to help make the world a pain-free place for all!

South OC Cars and Coffee is a weekly car show, attracting 1,000-3,000 plus hypercars, supercars, exotics, vintage, classic, muscle and sports cars, hot rods, rat rods, pickups, 4×4’s and motorcycles. No registration is required, and spectators are welcome. The show takes place every Saturday from 9am to 11am at The Outlets, 101 W Avenida Vista Hermosa San Clemente, rain or shine!

At the upcoming April 17 show, the special charity event will have extended hours from 9am to 3pm. Foose will host a booth for Amy’s Depot in front of Rockwell’s Café & Bakery, home to the Original and Famous Chocolate Curl & Fudge Fantasy Cakes, known for custom cakes, comfort food and gourmet choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rockwell’s will generously donate 20% of proceeds from purchases at the Café & Bakery during the auto show on April 17, to Amy’s Depot. Anyone who supports the charity with a purchase of Amy’s Depot merchandise or a donation will receive an autograph from Foose.

The second-generation auto designer / builder was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, and learned his craft working for his father and several other talented innovators, designing and building street rods, customs, studio vehicles and show cars. He started Foose Design, an automotive and product design development company, which has grown into an industry leader.

His popular TV series, “Overhaulin,’” ran for a total of 9 seasons, and recently returned on the MotorTrend app. The franchise is now back in production with MotorTrend with new episodes. Foose also contributed design and graphic treatments to the hit animated movie, “Cars” and his original Chip Foose “Cars” artwork and licensed products are available at Disney Theme Parks.

Foose is the youngest member ever inducted into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame in 1997 at age 31. Honored with over 30 prestigious automotive awards, he’s been inducted into the Grand National Roadster Hall of Fame, is an unprecedented 4-time winner of the Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama Show and the Good Guys Street Rod of the Year Award 8 times.

In his 30+ years in Automotive Design, Foose has designed and built over 170 automotive dreams, including internationally known vehicles. His achievements were highlighted by a showcase at the Petersen Automotive Museum in 2016 to celebrate Foose’s induction into the SEMA Hall of Fame. Two Chip Foose design vehicles were just sold from the Peterson collection at a Barrett-Jackson Auction in Arizona. Today, he continues to design and build automotive masterpieces.

“This is my third time at the South OC Cars and Coffee car show,” said Foose. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the cars and greeting my fellow auto enthusiasts. And my thanks to Simon and James and South OC Cars and Coffee and Rockwell’s Bakery & Café for their support for Amy’s Depot. What’s better than great cars, great friends, great food and a great cause?”

“We are extremely proud to be co-hosting this charity event for Amy’s Depot and Chip,” said Simon Wehr, Co-Founder of South OC Cars and Coffee. “My son James (Co-Founder) and I are huge fans of Chip’s… Watching “Overhaulin’” was literally what got me back into cars, which in turn is what got James into cars. We started our event to give back to the community, and what better way than by supporting such an important cause, with such a legend of the automotive industry. We will be selling a limited-edition Amy’s Depot/Foose Design/South OC Cars and Coffee T-Shirt at the event, with part proceeds going toward the charity. We will also have volunteers collecting donations from attendees.”
